This AUP sets the ground rules for using the AI Bible Scholar websites, apps, APIs, and community spaces (the "Service"). It is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Use. Capitalized terms have the meanings in the Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Scope (U.S.-Only): We offer and market the Service only in the United States. Users outside the U.S. must not use the Service.
1) Core Principles
- Respect & Integrity. Keep conversations charitable and constructive, acknowledging that Christians hold diverse views on doctrine and practice (Romans 14; John 13:35). No harassment or hate.
- Safety First. Do not use the Service to cause harm, facilitate illegal acts, or spread malware/misinformation.
- Honesty & Accuracy. Do not impersonate others, spread false information, or misrepresent your identity or affiliations.
- Respect Others' Rights. Honor intellectual property, privacy, and other legal rights of individuals and organizations.
2) Prohibited Content
You may not use the Service to post, generate, upload, share, or solicit content that is:
- Illegal or solicits illegal acts (including fraud, trafficking, or evasion of law enforcement).
- Harassing or hateful, including slurs or content that attacks a person or group based on race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, or religion.
- Violent or graphic, including depictions of violence, gore, or content that glorifies or promotes violence.
- Sexually explicit or pornographic content, including nudity, sexual acts, or sexually suggestive material.
- Deceptive or harmful, including scams, phishing, impersonation, doxxing, or disinformation intended to mislead.
- Malicious technical content, including malware, ransomware, backdoors, spyware, or instructions to create or deploy them.
- Invasion of privacy, including unauthorized sharing of others' personal or confidential information (PII), or attempts to re‑identify de‑identified data.
- Circumvention of safeguards, including instructions to bypass paywalls, DRM, or safety filters.
- Targeted political persuasion, including messaging designed to influence opinions, votes, public policy, or civic processes, as well as voter suppression or intimidation content.
3) Prohibited Conduct
You may not:
- Abuse the Service (spam, mass solicitation, link farming, engagement manipulation, referral abuse, or serial trial churn).
- Interfere with security or availability, including DDoS, rate‑limit evasion, probing production systems, or using VPNs/proxies/TOR to bypass geofencing or account restrictions.
- Circumvent access controls or attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data.
- Reverse engineer the Service or attempt to extract source code, algorithms, or proprietary information.
- Create multiple accounts to evade restrictions or limits.
- Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization.
4) Scripture & Third‑Party Content
- Bible Translations. We primarily surface public‑domain Bible versions (e.g., KJV, ASV, WEB). Where we include copyrighted translations (e.g., NIV®, NLT®, ESV®), we do so in a limited scope and within publisher rules (excerpt limits, required notices). If you copy/export passages beyond permitted limits, you must obtain a license from the rights holder.
- Citations & Attribution. Provide appropriate attribution when quoting Scripture or third‑party works. Do not remove or alter copyright notices or proprietary marks.
- Respect for Sacred Text. While we encourage scholarly discussion, maintain reverence for Scripture and avoid content that deliberately mocks, desecrates, or misrepresents biblical texts.
5) Data, Privacy, and Sensitive Information
- Sensitive data. Do not upload sensitive personal data, including Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, precise geolocation, financial account numbers, full payment card data, protected health information (PHI), or personal data of children under 13.
- Personal information of others. Do not post others' personal data without consent or a lawful basis. Do not attempt to re‑identify de‑identified data.
- Security of your account. Safeguard your credentials and devices; you are responsible for activity under your account.
- Age requirement. The Service is intended for individuals who are 18 years of age or older; you must not use the Service if you are under 18.
6) Technical Use, APIs & Rate Limits
- Fair Use. Use the Service consistent with normal, reasonable usage. We may publish and update quotas/rate limits from time to time, and you agree to comply with them. Abusive patterns (e.g., very high request rates, concurrent sessions, or storage misuse) may be throttled or blocked.
- APIs/SDKs. If we provide APIs, you must use valid credentials, comply with published rate limits, and keep keys secret. Do not share keys, and rotate them if you suspect compromise. Organization accounts: issuing API keys requires administrator approval; keys are limited to approved apps and use cases and may be revoked at any time.
- Automation. Automated tools must respect rate limits and not interfere with other users' experience. We may require approval for certain automated uses.
7) Security Research & Vulnerability Disclosure
We support good‑faith security research.
- Do: Test only against your own account and non‑production assets if available; avoid affecting other users; respect rate limits.
- Do Not: Access data you do not own, degrade availability, or attempt denial‑of‑service.
- Report: Send findings to security@aibiblescholar.app with details and steps to reproduce. We will respond within 48 hours and work with you on responsible disclosure.
8) Enforcement
To keep the Service safe and lawful, we may take one or more of the following actions at our discretion:
- Content actions: warnings, edits, labels, or removal of content.
- Account actions: rate limiting, feature restrictions, suspension, or termination.
- Legal actions: report to law enforcement, preserve or disclose data as legally required.
We consider intent, severity, user history, and risk to others when deciding actions. All sales are final; we do not offer refunds for enforcement actions (see Terms).
9) Reporting Violations & Appeals
- Report: Email legal@aibiblescholar.app (include links, timestamps, context). For urgent safety issues, put URGENT in the subject.
- Appeal: If you believe an action was in error, email legal@aibiblescholar.app within 14-21 days with your account email, action taken, and reason you believe it was a mistake. We will review and reply.
- False reports: Knowingly false reports may result in account action against the reporter.
10) Changes to this AUP
We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be posted in the Service or emailed to you. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
